「流れ星」「流星群」は英語で？

※専門用語では meteor といいますが、一般的には shooting star という事が多いです。

meteor storm 【意味】流星嵐
※meteor shower が広く用いられていますが、一時間あたりに1000個以上の流れ星が観測される場合は meteor storm (流星嵐）と表現されることもあります。
「流れ星」は星じゃない？？
「流れ星」shooting star と言いますが実は流れ星は「星」ではありません。
その正体は宇宙に漂う「塵（ちり）」です。
大きさは数ミリ～数センチとかなり小さいです。
また、流れ星自体は光を放っているわけではないのです。
地球の大気との摩擦により高温になって気化した塵（ちり）の成分が、地上から観測できる光を放っています。
